1. Who we are
SafeSpot provides smart, self-service lockers for footwear and bags at high-footfall facilities (such as temples, gyms, sports centres, malls, and play arenas), together with a web platform and mobile apps that let visitors book, pay for, and access lockers. We are the data fiduciary responsible for personal data processed through the Services. Our operations are based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information you provide
- Contact details — your name and phone number when you call or message us, request a site visit, or register on our platform or apps.
- Booking details — the facility, locker and compartment you use, and the date and time of your booking.
- Communications — the contents of messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp, or other channels.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & transaction data — locker open/close events, session duration, payment status, and similar records generated when you use a locker.
- Device & technical data — IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic logs.
- Cookies & similar technologies — see "Cookies & analytics" below.
Information from third parties
- Payment confirmations — transaction status and reference IDs from our payment gateway partners (we do not receive or store your full card details).
3. How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the lockers, platform, and apps;
- allot lockers, process payments, and enable you to store and collect your belongings;
- authenticate access and prevent theft, fraud, and misuse;
- provide customer support and respond to your queries;
- send service-related communications (such as booking and payment confirmations);
- monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Services; and
- comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
4. Legal basis & consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and as necessary to provide the Services you request, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time using the contact details below; this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. CCTV & locker security
Our locker units are monitored by CCTV, which may be accessible to authorised personnel via secure smartphone access, for the purposes of security, theft prevention, and resolving disputes. CCTV footage may capture your image while you use a locker. Footage is retained only for as long as necessary for these purposes and is accessed on a need-to-know basis.
6. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Service providers — payment gateways, hosting and cloud providers, analytics, and communication partners who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations;
- Facility partners — limited information necessary to operate lockers at their premises;
- Authorities — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SafeSpot, our users, or the public.
7. Payment information
Payments are processed by third-party payment service providers (supporting UPI, cards, and wallets). Your payment is handled directly by these providers under their own security standards; we receive only the transaction result and a reference, not your full card or banking credentials.
8. Cookies & analytics
Our website and platform may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the Services work.
9. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Services, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
10. How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls, encryption in transit, and secure hosting — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address any incidents promptly.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction or erasure, to withdraw consent, and to grieve any concern about how your data is handled. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
12. Children's privacy
The Services are intended for use by adults. Where lockers are located at family or play venues and are used on behalf of a child, the booking should be made by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without appropriate consent.
13. Third-party links
Our Services may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
